Trying to quote out a basic 200 sq ft deck repair using Jobber, but the software keeps glitching on material breakdowns for pressure-treated lumber and lag bolts. I ended up underquoting the first one at $1,200 and now the client's pissed about add-ons for the hidden rot. Anyone got tips to make estimating less of a crapshoot?

jobber's like that ex who promises the world but can't even handle a simple screw count without screwing you over. i've taken to quoting deck jobs on the back of a napkin with a sharpie... at least it dont glitch mid-measure.

jobber's a total scam for anything beyond basic scheduling, they charge an arm and a leg and still glitch out on simple material lists like lumber and bolts, screw em.

man, jobber's material breakdowns suck for deck jobs like that, had a similar mess where i underquoted by $300 on lag bolts and the client went nuts over the rot add-ons.

same shit here, quoting decks in Jobber always turns into a guessing game with the hidden rot stuff, i just walk the job now and mark every board that looks soft. wish i could just add a line item for rot discovery without it glitching on lag bolts. howd your second quote turn out?

same shit with jobber here, switched to fieldrate last month and deck quotes stopped coming back biting me

jobber is eating my margins too, had to switch to flat rate on lumber or i was losing $300 a pop on hidden rot.

Switch to Housecall Pro for quoting, it's way better at breaking down handyman jobs like decks with auto material lists.

Housecall Pro saved me on a pergola quote last week, added $300 in extras without the client batting an eye. Yeah, Jobber's clunky for that stuff.

Tried Housecall Pro but it overcomplicates simple fence fixes. Stick with spreadsheets if you're solo handyman.

Use Jobber's template feature and customize it once for deck stuff, then it pulls in the lumber costs automatically every time.

SharkBite fittings have no place in deck quotes, but if you're doing any plumbing tie-ins, forget Jobber and use pen and paper.

For deck quotes, always add 20% buffer for surprises like bad joists. Saved my ass on a $1,500 repair last month.

How do you handle photos in Jobber quotes? Mine never uploads right for showing rot damage.

Jobber sucks for handyman work, it's built for bigger crews. The estimating module is a joke compared to what we need for quick fixes.

jobber's like that ex who promises to handle everything but just leaves you with a pile of receipts and a headache. been using it for handyman gigs and ended up quoting a deck fix with pen and paper just to stay sane.

ServiceTitan is the real beast for accurate handyman estimates, integrates pricing for lumber and hardware without the BS errors.
