Had this Carrier mini split quote locked in at $2500 for the full install, customer texts me at 6am asking if we can squeeze in a duct cleaning too. Told him it's a separate $300 but now he's ghosting my scheduling confirm. FML, guess I'm eating the morning now.

Sounds like my last Trane job, customer added a condensate pump last minute and blew the whole timeline. 😂

Don't chase texts before coffee, man. Set a cutoff time for add-ons or you'll always be scrambling.

Agreed, I block unknowns after 7pm. Saved me from a nightmare furnace swap once.

Blocking is smart, but these homeowners think HVAC is 24/7 like pizza delivery.

Just quote the add-on separately and stick to your original slot. No freebies.

FieldEdge helps with this, auto-schedules based on your availability and flags last-minute BS.

Yeah, but their fees ate into my margins last year. Switched to Jobber, cheaper for solo ops.

Haha, next time reply with a pic of your empty coffee mug and say 'question costs extra'.

How do you handle rescheduling fees for these flakes? Mine's $100 minimum.

Screw these PE-backed outfits pushing us to take every call, it's burning everyone out on basic installs.

Try texting back with superheat readings from a similar job to show why add-ons need planning.

Pro tip: Use WhatsApp Business for scheduling, it has reminders that make customers feel the urgency. Last guy I dealt with actually showed up on time after that.
