been running my hvac side hustle for 5 years now and scheduling has been a nightmare with just google calendar and scribbled notes. switched to housecall pro last month and it's actually saving me time on routing service calls to fix frozen coils or recharge R-410a systems. the dispatch board lets me assign jobs to my one helper without endless texts, and the customer portal keeps them updated on when i'll show up for that mini-split install. saw a thread on r/HVAC where guys were raving about service titan but it's overkill for small ops like mine. anyone in the HVAC Techs Network group have experience with fieldedge? it integrates with my quickbooks but the learning curve sounds steep. tbh, if it syncs with my milwaukee tool tracker app that'd be a bonus for keeping tabs on jobsite gear. gonna stick with what works until i scale up.

same here, double books happen way too often with paper schedules. housecall pro fixed that for me quick.

scheduling hvac emergencies is the worst, always one call away from the whole day falling apart.

yep, lost a full day chasing a no-show once because of bad routing. felt that.

fuck these lead gen sites that flood you with overlapping service requests, they're killing small hvac guys.

those angi leads are the devil, always clashing with my real bookings.

housecall pro is solid but watch out for their 'premium' features sneaking up on you lol.

tried optimo route for a bit, it gps'd me right into traffic hell during rush hour repairs. never again.

fieldpulse here, it's cheap and does basic dispatching for furnace swaps without the bloat.

i use a whiteboard and coffee, works 90% of the time. the other 10% is just hvac life.

what's the deal with integrating scheduling with inventory? do any apps track r-22 stock automatically?

ever had a scheduling app straight up delete a whole week's worth of duct cleaning jobs? hilarious until it's your paycheck.

servicetitan is a beast but the monthly fees make my eyes water, stuck with free trials forever.

anyone using connecteam for hvac crews? how's the mobile check-in for on-site superheat readings?

connecteam's mobile check-in is a total crapshoot for superheat readings, always lags when you're sweating your ass off on a hot call and the damn thing crashes half the time like every other overpriced app these companies shove down our throats.

same here, connecteam's check-in craps out right when i'm trying to log superheat on a r-410a unit and i'm sweatin' bullets. these apps are all the same overpriced garbage that leave you hangin' on the job site.

connecteam's mobile check-in is a total crapshoot for superheat readings, half the time it glitches and i gotta screenshot everything manually. tried it for three months and ended up ditching it for service titan, which at least doesnt freeze up on the job. hvac apps just keep promising the world but deliver headaches, man. been switching every year and still havent found one that doesnt suck.

housecall pro all the way, cut my no-show rate in half for those emergency refrigerant top-offs. set alerts for everything and breathe easier.
