so im on this service call for a carrier infinity system, guy said it was freezing up on startup. turns out i mixed up the superheat and subcool readings, hooked up the gauges wrong like a total noob. spent $800 on a new txv and evap coil parts before realizing it was just low on r-410a from a slow leak. lesson learned, always double check your manifold setup.

carrier units are a damn scam, always leaving techs holding the bag for their junk engineering. i once ate $1200 in oem parts on a similar overtime fiasco and swore off their crap forever. boss pushed that sketchy job just to pad the books, but im tellin ya, trane never pulls that bs. switch brands or youre just begging for more headaches.
