Just wrapped up installing a Carrier Infinity 24VNA1 heat pump for a client, quoted them $7500 all in for the full system upgrade. Went smooth until the compressor crapped out mid-charge, had to eat the $500 replacement from my pocket since the supplier dragged their feet. Still, client's thrilled with the SEER2 efficiency, and I upsold them on a maintenance plan.

Man, that compressor fail sucks, been there with a Trane unit last summer.

FML, suppliers always screw you on rush parts. I had a similar mess with Goodman, waited 3 days and lost the whole job.

Damn, 3 days? That's brutal. I just tell clients upfront it'll take time or they eat the delay.

Yeah, but they still bitch. Lost $1200 on that one.

Haha, sounds like every HVAC Techs Network rant I've seen. We all get hosed by these parts delays.

Losing to a compressor? That's like me losing a bet to my apprentice on who finishes duct cleaning first. Kid's got skills, but I still owe him a beer.

Private equity's buying up all the suppliers now, prices up 20% and delays everywhere. Screw that noise.

SharkBite fittings for HVAC lines? Nah, stick to brazing every time. Seen too many leaks from those push-fits failing under pressure.

Insurance companies are the real villains here, denying claims on 'defective' installs even when it's the part.

Insurance is a joke, yeah. But hey, at least you turned it into a maintenance upsell.

Compressor headaches are the worst, but that Carrier Infinity's a beast once it's running right. Good save.
