Man, I'm in the greater Atlanta area and these humid summers have everyone calling for AC tune-ups, but when I try to upsell a yearly maintenance plan on their Carrier Infinity system, half the time they ghost me after. Last week I explained how it covers priority service and could save them on refrigerant top-offs for R-410a units, but the review they left was about how I 'pushed too hard.' It's frustrating because without those plans, I'm chasing one-off calls all season. Saw a post on r/HVAC where someone mentioned similar issues, and a guy in HVAC Techs Network group said to bundle it with a free filter change demo. TBH, my close rate is down to 20% on upsells this year. Anyone else dealing with this crap?

those karens will leave a 1-star if you even mention add-ons, drives me nuts.

yep, and then they complain about the bill later. had one yesterday bitch about a $150 diagnostic fee after refusing the upsell.

don't upsell if they're already salty from the initial call, you'll just get burned.
