customer calls at 3am about carrier unit leaking everywhere fml

got a frantic call last night from a homeowner whose carrier infinity system started puking water all over the basement. i show up bleary eyed and its the damn condensate pump crapped out, $450 part and 2 hours labor to fix. these after hours emergencies are killing me, especially when its something as basic as that.

fuck these homeowners who wait til its a flood before calling, every damn time

nailed a similar job last week, turned it into a $2k upsell on a full duct clean and new filter system.

test the pump before you leave, had one fail again in under a week last month.

hate these late night runs, knees are shot from crawling around in wet basements all season.

been there, feels like every hvac techs nightmare repeating.
