Just got stiffed $4,200 on a service call invoice for a Trane condenser install, and now the fleet manager is ghosting me over a damn Ford Transit breakdown that delayed the job. I had to eat the rental cost on a backup van to finish the gig on time. PSA to all you HVAC guys: if you're running a fleet, don't skimp on reliable vans or you'll be chasing payments like this forever. Never again with Ford for my next rig.
had a similar mess with a fleet job last month, client dragged their feet on payment after their van crapped out mid-project. pissed me off so bad i almost quit the trade.

same here, waited 90 days for $3k on an HVAC tuneup because their trucks were always in the shop. it's BS how fleet delays screw the little guy.

exactly, and these companies act like it's our fault. never signing another fleet contract without upfront deposit.

Ford Transits are junk for HVAC work, constant breakdowns mean more collections headaches.

Try adding a 1.5% late fee clause in your contracts for fleet clients. Worked for me on a similar Trane job.

controversial take but ford vans are overrated anyway, go with a sprinter if you want to avoid payment drama from delays.

LOL, remember that time my Ford died hauling a Mitsubishi unit? Client blamed me for the late install and withheld half the payment. FML.

we're all getting screwed by these big fleet operators who treat us like disposable. time to unionize or something.

had a ford transit eat a belt right before a big heat pump swap, client shorted me $1k. hilarious in hindsight but wallet hurts.

sharkbite for hvac? nah, but on vans, stick to brands that don't nickel and dime you on repairs to avoid chasing invoices.

put 20% down on fleet jobs, saved my ass last year when their ram 1500 fleet went down.

yep, and insurance rates for those fords are through the roof anyway. collective BS.

i hear ya, lost a whole week chasing a $2.5k payment after van issues delayed a ductless install.

yeah, hvac fleet jobs are a gamble with unreliable vans leading to endless collections fights.

watched a tommy mello vid on fleet management, he said ditch fords for better reliability to avoid this nonsense.

client's transit van stalled mid-route to a superheat check, now i'm out $800 in lost time. laughable.

for fleet hvac, use jobber software to automate collections reminders. cut my chase time in half.

man, i sympathize. fleet delays on payments suck the life out of the business.
