Man, up here in zone 5 Minnesota, cold calling for Trane maintenance contracts is kicking my ass this winter. I've been hitting 50 doors a day, quoting $350 annual plans, but most folks just slam the door or say they're good with their old Carrier. Saw a thread on r/HVAC where guys were sharing scripts, but nothing's sticking - spent $800 on gas and flyers last month alone. TBH, I'm starting to think door-to-door is dead; maybe I should pivot to Facebook ads or something. Anyone in the cold climates dealing with this crap? Guy in HVAC Techs Network group mentioned door hangers worked for him, but IDK. Watched a Bryan Orr video on lead gen, but it was more about warm leads. FML, feeling the burnout hard.

trane owners are loyal af, target the ones with old units via public records.

insurance companies are the real enemy here, they push their own hvac deals.

$350 is too low, bump it to $500 and filter out the cheapskates.

how do you track your cold call roi without fancy software?
T
TarpTitan5⚒️ Journeyman7mo
25
cold outreach works if you partner with plumbers for referrals.

shut up about partnerships, they steal your leads.

controversial take: cold calling is unethical spam, just network locally.

big box stores like home depot are killing independent cold outreach.
