I've been doing HVAC installs and repairs for 15 years, mostly residential mini-splits and ductwork, and I'm sick of these boilerplate contracts that leave everything open to interpretation. Just had a job in the greater Atlanta area where the client backed out after I ordered a Carrier Infinity unit because the agreement didn't specify timelines clearly enough, and now I'm stuck with the deposit refund hassle. Out here in Georgia, with the humidity messing up installs if you don't move fast, I need something tighter on scope, payment schedules, and change orders. Saw a thread on r/HVAC about using AIA templates adapted for service work, but adapting that for Trane heat pumps feels like overkill. Anyone in HVAC Techs Network group have a solid contract template for service agreements? I'm tired of losing money on these gray areas.
