Walked into this service call thinking it was a quick superheat adjustment, but nope, the evaporator coil was toast from low airflow. Installed a new Carrier Infinity matching the existing unit, charged $2800 all-in with the warranty transfer. Customer hits me with 'it's not cooling like before' even though gauges read perfect now. SMH, some folks just want miracles. Saw a similar rant on r/HVAC about finicky Infinity owners.

Never swap coils without documenting the old superheat and subcool readings first, or you'll eat the blame for every hot day.

This. Last time I skipped that step on a Trane job, inspector failed it and I lost $500 in callbacks.

Insurance companies and PE vultures are teaming up to screw us on parts markup, now customers pile on? BS.

Tell her the coil's whispering sweet nothings to the compressor now, but if she wants more, upgrade to variable speed for another grand lol.

Felt this in my soul, man. After a 12-hour day brazing linesets, one whiny email undoes it all.
