I've been upselling add-ons like UV lights and zoning dampers on Mitsubishi Hyperheat installs for years, and it's boosted my average ticket without feeling pushy. Start by asking about their allergies or uneven room temps after checking the superheat, then demo how a $200 UV kit integrates with the head unit to kill mold in the ducts. Throw in a WiFi thermostat for remote control, mentioning how it pairs seamlessly with the app for efficiency tweaks. Reference the refrigeration cycle basics from that HVAC School podcast to build trust. Last month, turned a basic 12k BTU quote into a full system with those extras. Guy in HVAC Techs Network group asked for tips, so sharing here. Keeps the job interesting beyond just brazing lines.

your upsell script sounds slick on paper but damn, half my customers act like i'm trying to rob 'em blind when i mention the uv light add-on, kills the whole vibe.

yeah man, i know that feeling, customers shut down faster than a frozen pipe when you even hint at extras like uv lights.

nice script, i add in a quick demo of the mitsubishi kumo cloud app on their phone during the consult to show how zoning lets them cool just the rooms they use and it usually seals the deal on those dampers.

man i feel that, tryin to upsell without comin off like a salesman is the real battle every time i pitch a hyperheat add-on.

upselling that crap just makes customers think we're all scumbags trying to fleece em for every last buck, been burned too many times when they call back pissed about the 'essentials' i pushed.

love adding that uv light upsell after the superheat check; bumps the ticket by a solid $300 without the hard sell. i demo it right on the spot with their duct layout to show how it fits.

your script's slick, but i tried the uv light demo once and the homeowner asked if it came with a cat toy attachment... sold it anyway tho 😂
