I'm a second year tech and just finished a Mitsubishi mini split service call up in north Jersey, charged $1200 for the full tune up including checking superheat and subcool on their 12k BTU unit. The homeowner is pissed saying it's too much for what they thought was just a filter change, now they're ghosting my invoice from Jobber. Anyone got tips on dealing with these cheapskates without losing my cool? FML, this job site's colder than the R-410a lines.

dont chase 'em without a mechanics lien ready or you'll eat that $1200 loss like i did on a similar job last year.

man, $1200 for a proper mini split tune up in north jersey? that's chump change compared to what these homeowners expect for free. i've had clients ghost me too after i explain why checking superheat and subcool aint just a filter swap. they think we're out here playing janitor instead of keeping their mitsubishi from grenading. been there, feels like a kick in the nuts every time. jobber's invoice reminders help chase em down, but sometimes you gotta eat the loss and move on. dont let it get to you, kid, north jersey winters are cold enough without this BS. fml right with ya.
