Been hustlin' for commercial HVAC gigs up here in the Chicago area, zone 5 winters mean everyone's desperate for reliable heating systems come fall. Finally landed a $8k annual maintenance contract for a small office building last week after months of cold calls and networking at local business meetups. Used my Trane certification to pitch the Infinity series efficiency upgrades, showed 'em how it'd slash their energy bills by 20% over the old clunkers. Watched a Bryan Orr video on HVAC School that gave me the nudge to focus on data-backed proposals instead of just lowballing. Now I'm tweaking my Google Business Profile to highlight commercial work, but damn if the competition isn't fierce with all these PE-backed outfits swooping in. Anyone else scaling up commercial in a cold market like this?
man, those pe-backed sharks are eatin' up every commercial gig in chicago, makes it a damn grind to land even one solid contract like yours. been chasin' the same cold market here and it feels like were always one step behind em.

those PE vultures are squeezin' out us little guys in chicago, took three months of beggin' just to get a callback on a similar office job. sucks how they're buyin' up everything and leavin' scraps for the rest of us.

tweak that google business profile with before-and-after energy savings data from your trane infinity installs, helped me snag two office contracts last winter by proving the 20% cut without lowballing.

Same here, but don't get me started on the overtime pay we never see.

Frustrated as hell with these commercial bids, spent two weeks on a proposal just to get undercut by some fly-by-night crew using cheap R-22 scraps. It's bullshit how they ruin the market for legit techs like us.

PE vultures are the real enemy, buying up local shops and jacking rates while we scrape by on scraps.

those PE assholes are ruining everything, swooping in on good local outfits and turning 'em into cash cows that bleed us dry on bids. chicago's getting hit hard, man, can't compete with their deep pockets anymore.

I hear ya on the cold market hustle, closed a similar deal last month but it took door-knocking three buildings a day.
