Just brought on my first full-time tech using Housecall Pro for scheduling, but damn if it hasn't turned into a crap-show coordinating service calls for AC tune-ups and duct cleanings. We're missing jobs left and right because the routing ain't syncing up with traffic around here, and I've already eaten $1,200 in lost productivity this month. Anyone got tips on training new guys without micromanaging every refrigerant leak check? Saw a video on HVAC School YouTube that helped a bit with basic workflows, but need real-world advice.
been there with housecall pro, itll sync up eventually but damn those first few weeks suck. lost a couple grand myself before i figured out the routing tweaks, hang in there.

housecall pro turned into a total nightmare for me too, couldnt route around that damn construction zone without missing two jobs in a row. lost 800 bucks and the new guy just stared at the app like it was in chinese, should've stuck with paper schedules longer.

set a hard rule for your tech to log superheat and subcool readings right after every leak check, then review it once a week instead of daily. that way you're training without hovering, and it'll stick better than constant nagging.

housecall pro's routing is a total scam, always screwing us with traffic bs and leaving techs spinning their wheels for hours. i lost a full day last week chasing calls that should've been 20 minutes apart, all because the damn app couldn't handle the morning rush. these software companies don't give a shit about real field work, just rake in the fees while we eat the losses.

man, that first hire always turns scheduling into a total clusterfuck, i remember losing track of my guy during rush hour and eating a couple grand in reschedules. housecall pro's routing is crap when traffic hits, had to start calling the tech every 30 minutes just to keep shit on track. been there, it gets better once you hammer out the routines but damn it sucks at first.

housecall pro's routing is a total scam, it's like they designed it to screw small shops outta thousands while the big boys laugh all the way to the bank.

housecall pro's routing is like herding cats on meth, but hey, at least your tech's learning refrigerant leaks the hard way - trial by fire keeps em honest 😂

Don't hire anyone under 5 years experience or you'll be babysitting forever, I learned that the hard way with a kid who botched a Trane coil swap and cost me a full day.

Solid advice. Set clear KPIs from day one, like 90% on-time arrivals tracked in the app. We use that to weed out the slackers quick.

Housecall Pro's routing is garbage for multiple trucks, switch to ServiceTitan if you can swing the $150/month fee.

Same here, my first hire kept double-booking mini-split installs and I was pissed running around fixing his messes. Felt that burnout hard after two months.
