I'm in Texas and just got hit with another renewal for my HVAC contractor license, $250 bucks and that's not even counting the CE hours I gotta grind through. These state fees keep climbing every damn year and it's killing small outfits like mine. Why the hell do they think we can afford this crap on top of everything else?

yeah man, that $250 renewal hits like a ton of bricks when you're already scraping by on $80k a year in this heat. state's got us by the balls with these fees climbing faster than my blood pressure after a 100 degree attic crawl. if they jack it up again next year, i might just tell 'em to shove it and go rogue.
