Out here in Phoenix, zone 2 heat means we're all sweating bullets, and I decided to try door knocking for routine Carrier maintenance checks last summer. Knocked on maybe 50 doors in a single afternoon, pitching $150 annual tune-ups to beat the dust buildup, but half the folks slammed the door yelling about solicitors. One guy even called the cops, saying I was harassing him during his AC outage - had to explain I was just trying to prevent exactly that kinda crap. Spent $200 on flyers and water just to come home empty-handed and dehydrated. Now I'm second-guessing the whole cold outreach thing; feels like a total waste when Angi leads cost the same but convert better. Don't get me started on the heat rash from hauling my toolkit around neighborhoods. If you're in a hot market like this, skip the knocking and stick to online ads IMO.

skip the damn door knocking altogether in spots like phoenix; i tried it once for roof inspections and ended up with a no-solicit violation fine after a grumpy homeowner reported me. stick to google ads or nextdoor posts, saved my ass from zoning headaches and wasted afternoons. dont risk your license over a few tune-up leads.

man, door knocking in that phoenix heat sounds like a nightmare i wouldnt wish on anyone, been there chasing leads and coming back with nothing but sunburn. the cops thing? total BS, homeowners act like youre the grim reaper during a blackout. spent a whole day once in similar temps and all i got was heat rash and zero closes, dehydrated as hell. feels like angi's the only way without the hassle anymore.

those damn phoenix homeowners are the worst, slamming doors and calling cops like we're the enemy when their ac craps out. angi leads suck too but at least they dont get you dehydrated and pissed off for nothing.

damn, that phoenix heat turns door knocking into a straight-up nightmare, had a similar crap-show last year where i got cussed out for just asking if they needed a tune-up. angi leads suck too but at least you dont end up with heat stroke and zero callbacks.

man, door knocking in that phoenix heat sounds like a nightmare, ive been there sweatin my ass off with zero leads to show for it. feels like everyones got their guards up these days, slamming doors before you can even get a word in. shoulda stuck to the online stuff from the jump, saves the dehydration and the BS.

try partnering with local realtors for referrals instead, i landed three solid hvac tune-up gigs last month that way and skipped the door-knocking hassle altogether.

man, don't knock doors in phoenix heat or you'll end up like that fake maintenance guy who got busted by cops last year - total crapshoot. stick to angi even if they gouge you, better than dodging homeowners with shotguns.

goddamn homeowners in phoenix act like you're selling snake oil instead of saving their asses from a $2k breakdown. angi's no better, sucking up leads with their BS fees while we grind for scraps. screw cold outreach, it's a rigged game out here in the heat.

try targeting neighborhoods with older trane units around ahwatukee; folks there actually listen when you mention the $150 tune-up catches issues before they blow a compressor. skip angi altogether and build a referral chain with local realtors, landed me three steady contracts last summer. door knocking works better mid-morning before the heat fries everyone out. just keep your pitch under two minutes, focus on that phoenix dust clogging coils.

watch your back knocking doors in phoenix, had a buddy get flagged as a scammer by some paranoid apartment manager last summer and almost lost his license. cops showed up quick after one bad tip, and boom, you're explaining yourself for hours. stick to google business profile leads instead, way less hassle.

door knocking's the only way to cut through angi's BS fees and actually talk to real customers who need the work, not just tire kickers. screw the solicitors yelling, i make $5k a week in phoenix summers ignoring that noise.

man those phoenix homeowners are the WORST, slamming doors like they're allergic to a good deal while their ac's choking on dust. i tried the same crap last year, knocked on 30 houses before some soccer mom sicced her chihuahua on me and another called it in as a scam. angi's no saint either, but at least they don't make you sweat your balls off for zero leads. screw cold knocking in this heat, it's like begging for heat stroke and a bad attitude. we'd all be better off burning those flyers and hitting up google ads instead.

man, door knocking in that phoenix heat sounds like a special kind of hell, been there with roofing estimates and came away soaked in sweat and zero leads. half the time folks treat you like youre selling snake oil, slamming doors before you can even mention the benefits. i spent a whole saturday hauling samples around neighborhoods last year and got nothin but dirty looks and one dog that wouldnt stop barking. feels like a total crapshoot when online stuff like google ads pulls in real jobs without the hassle. sucks that angi leads eat into the budget too, but at least they dont leave you dehydrated and pissed off.

those damn phoenix homeowners treat you like a telemarketer the second you knock, slamming doors and calling cops over a simple tune-up pitch - its bullshit. angi's no better, sucking $150 a pop for leads that ghost you anyway, all while they rake in the cash from our sweat. screw cold outreach in this heat, its a rigged game against us grunts trying to make an honest buck.

man, door knocking in that phoenix heat is a total crapshoot, i've had more doors slammed in my face than i can count and came home smelling like sweat and regret. those angry homeowners during an ac outage? they're the worst, acting like you're the one who broke their unit instead of just offering to fix it. spent a whole weekend pounding pavement last year and barely got one lead, felt like i was begging more than selling. stick to angi or whatever works, knocking just ain't worth the sunburn.

Door knocking in the summer heat? You're braver than me, man - I'd rather wrestle a pissed-off compressor than chase down strangers in 110 degrees. Sounds like a comedy of errors.

Fuck these anti-solicitation laws, they're killing small outfits like us trying to drum up legit work. Every city's got some BS rule now.

SharkBite-level controversial take: door knocking still works if you target the right hoods, like older subdivisions with original units. Screw the naysayers; I've closed 3 jobs this month that way.

Those original units are ticking time bombs anyway. But yeah, pick your battles - avoid the gated communities.

Same here, tried it in Tucson and got zero bites after a full day. Switched to NextDoor posts and actually booked a few tune-ups without breaking a sweat.

Try partnering with a local realtor for referrals instead - I got two Carrier installs last quarter that way, no knocking required. Saves time and sanity.
