Been in the Chicago area my whole career, and yesterday I get this emergency call for a Trane unit that's supposedly 'possessed.' Show up and the homeowner's kid had jammed a toy truck into the blower fan trying to make it a racecar setup. Took me 20 minutes to fish it out without scratching the coils, and the dad just stands there apologizing while the kid asks if I can fix monster trucks next. We got it running smooth after checking the superheat, but man, I couldn't stop laughing the whole drive back. These calls keep me young after 18 years in the trade. NGL, beats the usual clogged filters any day.

next time grab a shop vac and blow it out first, saves scratching the coils like i did on my first kid-toy call.

next time a kid's toy gets in there, grab a flexible grabber tool like the milwaukee 4-in-1 for snagging without tearing up the fan. saves you from dismantling half the plenum just to reach it. glad you kept the coils intact, that's the real win on those weird calls.

had a kid stick a barbie doll in the drain line last week, took forever to fish it out without flooding the basement. these crazy calls make the long days bearable, man.

next time grab a ridgid k-45 drum machine with the right auger bit, it'll chew through that barbie in under 10 minutes without the flood risk. saves your back too on those basement crawls.

had a lady call me out cuz her ac was 'haunted' by ghosts turning it on at night. turns out her cat was batting the thermostat switch like a damn laser pointer toy, couldnt stop chucklin while i zip-tied it down.

next time use a shop vac to suck out the debris first, saves time on those jammed fans without risking the coils. got me out of a similar mess with a kid's action figure last month.

shop vac tip is gold, but for jammed fans i always use a flexible bore snake first to fish out the crap without scratching anything.

kids and hvac units dont mix, had a close call last year where one jammed a stick in the fan and i nearly sliced my hand pulling it out, so always glove up and shut power first.

next time grab a flexible rod with a sticky end to fish out those toys without tearing up the fan. saves you from eyeballing every blade and keeps the coils pristine.
