Managing HVAC Crew in Rural Ohio Turning Into a Nightmare

Been running a small HVAC outfit in rural Ohio for 8 years now, and managing the crew is killing me. Last week I had to fire a tech who botched a Trane furnace install, costing me $2500 in callbacks and parts. These guys show up late half the time because of the long drives between farms, and I'm paying $45/hr to keep them on the road. Anyone else dealing with this crap in the sticks?

those damn rural drives are a nightmare, turnin good techs into late-ass drifters half the time. its like the countryside is out to screw every contractor in the sticks.

goddamn rural hiring pool is a joke, every tech i get either flakes on the 45-minute drives or installs like they've never seen a trane before, we're all getting screwed out here.

goddamn rural areas are a hiring nightmare, cant keep anyone from bailing for city jobs and leaving me with empty vans and pissed off farmers.

man, rural ohio drives are a killer, had a similar mess with my crew last month where one guy showed up two hours late to a barn job and left the superheat all outta whack on a carrier unit. cost me a grand in fixes and the farmer cussin me out. these long hauls between calls just burn through your day and your patience, especially when youre payin 40 bucks an hour for half productive time. been there with the late arrivals too, feels like herdin cats sometimes. i get why youre at your wits end, firin that tech was probably the right call even if it stings. wish there was a magic fix for the sticks, but it just comes with the territory out here. hang in there, brother.

man, rural ohio's got the same bullshit with crews dragging their feet on those long hauls between jobs. i've lost count of the times a tech's shown up late and turned a simple call into a full day crap show. feels like you're herding cats out there sometimes.

rural ohio hvac? sounds like herding cats with a 30-mile commute, no wonder your techs are botching installs - next time hire a drone to drop off the parts 😂

rural ohio is a total shitshow for hvac crews, these long hauls between farms are bleeding us dry and the techs couldnt care less. damn near every owner out here is dealing with the same BS from lazy hires and endless callbacks.

try implementing a daily text check-in with your crew using something like connecteam to track their location and cut down on those late arrivals from long rural drives.

man, rural gigs are a total pain with the drives and late arrivals killing your schedule. been there, and it sucks paying out the nose for techs who cant even show up on time.

try route4me for scheduling those rural runs, it shaved 45 minutes off my daily drive time and keeps the crew on track.

Man, rural Ohio sounds brutal - same here with my guys missing jobs because the roads are a mess after rain. Fired one last month for skipping a heat pump service call, lost $800 in revenue.
