Warning: Don't let clients lowball you on mulch jobs like this

Had a nightmare client insist on using only Home Depot bulk mulch for their full yard install, and I quoted $4500 flat rate including labor and delivery. They tried to haggle down to $3500 saying it's 'just dirt and bark,' but after the install they complained about every pebble and refused partial payment. PSA to all you greenhorns: stick to your guns on pricing or you'll end up chasing checks from entitled HOAs. Never again.

Mulch jobs are where I started pushing flat rates with a 20% no-haggle clause, screw the lowballers who think we're landscapers not business owners.
