Saw this reel on Mike Andes dropping out of med school to mow lawns and now I'm cracking up

NGL, I stumbled on this Instagram reel about Mike Andes where he talks about ditching medical school to start mowing lawns and building up Augusta Lawn Care into a beast of a business. It's hilarious how he went from scrubs to pushing a Toro zero-turn and now he's got trucks everywhere. Reminds me of my own start, back when I was just hustlin' with a beat-up push mower in the neighborhood, thinkin' I'd never make it past basic lawn cuts. The guy's story is straight fire, but damn if it doesn't make you laugh at how far some of us have come from those early days of blistered hands and sunburns. Anyone else inspired by his grind? Saw a similar rant in the Lawn Care Business Owners Facebook group about pivoting careers like that.

Man, same here, that reel hit me right in the feels while I was eatin' lunch.

Frustrated as hell, I tried the med school route too but bills piled up and I ended up back with my old Stihl trimmer full time. Wish I'd seen Andes' story sooner, mighta saved me some therapy money.

PE firms are circling guys like him now, buyin' up lawn companies left and right. It's BS, turns the fun gig into corporate crap.

How'd you find that reel? I've been lookin' for more stories like Andes' to motivate my crew.

FML, my first mower was a rusty hand-me-down that died mid-job. Andes probably had better luck, but hey, we all start somewhere funny.
