I've been busting my ass with Google Business Profile for my landscaping outfit, but lately it's been a crap-show for getting leads on mulch installs and sod jobs. Someone left a 2-star review because their St. Augustine grass turned brown during a heat wave, even though I warned 'em about the drought here in central Texas. We're in Texas so irrigation tweaks are key, but now my profile's buried under a bunch of big chain outfits like TruGreen. Asked in the Landscaping Professionals Facebook group and got mixed advice on responding to BS reviews. Saw a thread on r/landscaping about optimizing photos of before-and-after lawn renos, but I'm still seeing my calls drop 30% this season. Anyone got tips on boosting the profile for seasonal services like that? Mike Andes on Instagram talks about review strategies, but I need something that actually works for local yard work.

google's got me thinking my profile's cursed, like i uploaded a pic of my truck in the rain and now humid weather jobs ghost me. 😂 been there, trying to get a drainage fix lead and boom, some guy with a shiny new listing steals it cuz he posts pics of his ego instead of actual work. i fixed it by dumping 20 fresh shots of me knee-deep in mud, pretending it's not humid as balls. now leads trickle in, but half are folks wanting free palm tree advice. shoulda known google cares more about your photo game than your actual sod-laying skills. moral of the story: fake it til you mow it, or just bribe the algorithm with pics of your lunch break barbecue.

hit that review with a polite request for more details right away, i've seen it bump ratings back up quick. then flood your profile with fresh pics of humid weather jobs showing off your drainage work to drown out the negativity. respond publicly to every review, even the good ones, keeps google algo happy and shows you're on top of things. one bad apple wont kill ya if you play it smart.
