Guys, if you're running a landscaping crew like I am, don't sleep on those Google reviews. Had a client last summer who flipped out because we used Scotts Turf Builder fertilizer and their grass went all patchy from overapplication, even though I explained it was normal in that heat. They left a 1-star rant calling us hacks, and now it's tanking my search rankings. Saw a similar story in the Lawn Care Business Owners Facebook group where a guy lost three commercial mulch jobs over one pissed-off homeowner. I've been using Housecall Pro to track reviews, but man, it's hard to bury that crap. Anyone got tips on responding without escalating? IMO, it's all about reputation in this game.

Those entitled homeowners think they know better than us pros, it's BS every time. Every landscaping outfit I know has at least one review from hell dragging everyone down.

Yeah, and the algorithms punish you for it hard. Can't even fight back without looking defensive.

Dealt with the same crap last year on a sod install job. Client blamed my crew for dying patches, ignored that they watered it wrong, and boom, my rating drops. It's exhausting trying to keep up with the negatives.

Respond quick and professional, offer to fix it for free if you can. I use a template in my CRM: acknowledge the issue, apologize, invite them back. Worked for me on a tree trimming complaint.
