anyone else fed up with using free apps for quoting landscape jobs? i just dropped $200 on landscape management software and it's still a pain to input all the mulch volumes and bed sizes accurately. feels like im guessing half the time on those big retaining wall installs.

haha same, my estimator app once told me i needed 50 yards of topsoil for a 10x10 bed, nearly lost the client laughing.

man i feel you, been there with underquoting sod installs and eating the cost.

don't waste money on that crap until you've tried the free trials, i got burned on a $150 sub for irrigation estimating software that didn't even handle drip lines right.

yeah the free ones suck for complex jobs but at least you can test without committing cash.

shove the fancy software, i do all my quoting with a tape measure and excel sheet, keeps me honest and the margins fat.

excel works until you got a crew of 5 all needing updates mid-job, then it's chaos.

we're all in the same boat, but seriously pissed at how these tools never account for waste on sloped lots.

ugh yeah, last mulch job i estimated with software and ended up short 2 yards, client was not happy.

totally get the frustration, switched to a basic app and my estimates are way more reliable now.
