started this landscaping gig a month ago, mostly just pushing a Toro TimeCutter around suburban yards, but man the heat out here in Arizona the first few days had me chugging Gatorade like it was going out of style. had a job yesterday where the client wanted the edges perfect but the grass was so thick i burned out the belt twice. saw a similar rant on r/landscaping about newbie mistakes, figured id vent here too. anyone got tips for not screwing up the first impression on these maintenance runs? feels like every yard has some hidden sprinkler head waiting to wreck my day. and dont get me started on the guy in Lawn Care Professionals fb group who said its all uphill from here, yeah right.

first impressions matter, do the edges by hand if needed.

try edging with a string trimmer first, less damage.
