Had this nightmare client who wanted a basic drip system for her flower beds, so I quoted $850 using Echo components because they're reliable and easy to install. She signs off, I spend two days digging trenches and hooking up the timers, everything tests perfect. Next day she calls screaming that it doesn't cover her 'vision' and wants it all ripped out for nothing, SMH. Guy in Lawn Care Professionals FB group said just lien the property but damn, these entitled homeowners are killing me.

sounds like she thought $850 bought her a full-on disneyland garden, not just some echo drips. next time tell her the vision comes with a vision fee, or she can dig it herself lol.

next time tell her the echo system's her new best friend or she's watering with a garden hose like it's 1950. had a lady once demand i redo her whole patio for free after i laid the pavers, said it didnt match her 'aesthetic' ... ended up charging her double to fix her attitude. 😂

man, these homeowners think they're landscapers after watching one hgtv episode and screw everything up. i had a lady do the same crap last month, demanded free redo on a $600 echo setup cuz her 'vision' changed, ended up eating the cost just to get away from her. entitled bs like this is why i stick to commercial gigs now, less drama.

entitled homeowners like that are the worst, i had one threaten to sue over a $200 sod job that wasnt even my fault. screw em, lien it and move on before they waste more of your time.

man, entitled homeowners like that make me wanna quit every time. been there with a drip job last summer and the lien route was the only thing that saved my ass.

sounds like she thought echo meant free replays on her dream yard, not the drip system brand lol

lien her ass and walk away, these entitled homeowners think echo parts grow on trees and we're their free landscapers, fight me on not doing it.

man, i feel that - had a client last summer flip out over a $600 drip setup i did with rain bird parts, said it wasnt what she pictured even though she approved the quote. these entitled homeowners think they can change their minds for free and its killin me too. lien sounds like the way to go, dont let em walk all over you.

don't ever rip out work for free on a change of mind, it'll bite you every time. had a job last summer where i caved to a similar demand and the client still stiffed me on the final payment, left me chasing $1200 through small claims. homeowners like that turn every job into a crapshoot, especially with irrigation where one leak floods their precious yard and suddenly you're the villain. always get every detail of the 'vision' in writing before you touch a shovel, or you'll end up digging twice for half the pay. echo's solid but rodents love chewing those lines in dry spells, so i warn clients upfront to rodent-proof or it's on them. that FB group advice on liens is spot on, but file it quick before they sell the house. seen guys lose their shirts ignoring that step. protect your ass first, man.

get everything in writing before you start, like a detailed scope of work signed off on - saves your ass on these scope creep jobs. echo's good but even they can't fix a vague 'vision' without extra cash.

these entitled homeowners think they can sign a contract then change their damn minds and expect us to eat the labor, its bullshit and liens are the only way to fight back.
