been in landscaping for like 3 months now, mostly residential lawns with a mix of grass types, and i'm charging $50 per cut to start out. wake up at 6am, load up the trailer with the mower and blower, hit the first few stops before traffic kicks in, but by noon i'm beat from the heat and edging all those damn flower beds. anyone got tips on not burning out on the repetition? saw a thread on r/lawncare about batching routes but not sure if it applies to small crews.

man, that heat by noon turns every damn day into a grind, and dont even get me started on the endless edging that wrecks your back after 15 properties.

man, that noon heat hits like a truck when you're edging those beds for the tenth time... been there after 15 years, the repetition turns your brain to mush by day three. batching routes helped me a ton, just group your properties by neighborhood and hit em in order to cut down on deadhead miles. dont forget to chug water every stop or you'll be toast by 2pm. hang in there, it gets easier once you got the rhythm down.

goddamn homeowners expect you to mow 20 of those yards for peanuts while they sip iced tea on the porch, its infuriating how they undervalue the sweat we pour in.

damn those cheapskate homeowners who complain about $50 cuts but leave their yards full of dog shit and overgrown weeds, makes me wanna chuck the john deere into the next ditch every single day.

batching routes helps, but nothing beats blasting some tunes on that john deere and pretending you're in a monster truck rally to kill the boredom.

those damn homeowners who want pristine edges for $50 a cut are the real villains, they bitch about every blade of grass while we're sweatin our asses off in the heat.

pushing 20 properties on that john deere without a solid shade break every hour is a recipe for heatstroke, i saw a guy last summer end up in the er from ignoring it.

fuckin homeowners always want that perfect edge but bitch when you charge 'em for the time it takes, meanwhile i'm out there in the heat sweating my ass off on routes that shoulda been batched better. angi leads just dump more crap on you without the pay bump. stick with referrals, screw the lead gen sites.

batch the routes like that r/lawncare thread says, but throw in a mandatory ice cream break around noon or you'll end up cursing your john deere like it's the one edging those flower beds.

man, that noon heat crash hits like a truck after edging all morning, been there way too many times. the repetition's a real grind, especially when you're solo and the sun's beating down. batching routes helped me alot, but dont push past 15 properties or you'll burn out quick. hang in there, it gets easier once you nail the flow.

by noon you're beat? try mowing 20 with a john deere that thinks it's a go-kart, you'll be prayin' for snow by lunch. batch those routes like the r/lawncare folks say, or you'll end up as crispy as the flower beds you're edging.

batching routes is BS for small crews like yours, just gets you stuck in traffic and burns more gas on that john deere 1-series. stick to knocking out the close ones first and youll save your sanity, trust me.
