Been subcontracting out some of my larger landscape installs like these big retaining wall jobs with Allan Block blocks, but the coordination is killing me out here in north Georgia. Last week, one sub showed up late with the wrong gravel size, which threw off the entire drainage setup and cost me an extra day on site. I'm using Jobber to try and sync schedules, but these guys never confirm until the last minute. It's frustrating because I land the main contract for $15k on a full yard makeover, but the subs eat into my margins with their delays. Anyone else dealing with this crap on bigger projects?

i switched to a tight crew of three reliable subs for my georgia yard jobs and now i'm clearing 25% margins on those $15k installs without the headache.

how do you even find subs worth a damn up in north georgia? the ones ive worked with are always flakin out on deadlines.

man, subcontracting landscapers is like herding cats on caffeine, one time my sub showed up with a truckload of mulch that smelled like it came from a petting zoo and we spent half the day convincing the homeowner it wasnt a biohazard. north georgia hills make everything twice as fun too, right? i tried jobber myself but ended up just calling them at dawn like a paranoid dad. these guys confirm last minute because theyre probably still hungover from the night before, classic. landed a 12k job once and the delay turned it into a comedy of errors with the wrong blocks tumbling down the slope. shoulda stuck to mowing lawns solo, less drama. you ever just fire a sub mid-project and do it yourself? 😂

man, subs pulling that last-minute BS on my north georgia jobs has cost me more weekends than i can count, feels like herding cats.

switch to housecall pro for better sub scheduling, it lets you set automated reminders and track confirmations in real time so you cut down on no-shows.

man, subcontracting headaches like that eat away at ya in north georgia too, had a sub ghost me last month and it turned a quick job into a week long crap show.

try building in a 20% buffer on your sub schedules in Jobber and hit em with a $500 penalty clause for showing up late - it's saved my ass on a few Georgia jobs.

mulch ghosting is the worst, sounds like a bad horror flick.

north georgia subs sound as unreliable as the ones i deal with, been there with delayed sod installs.

yeah, sod waits for no one, lost a whole patch to the heat that way last summer.

man, delayed sod installs are the WORST, like waiting for your buddy to show up with the beer at a tailgate and he ghosts. been there in north georgia, spent a whole day digging holes just for the sub to bail and leave me with a muddy mess. shoulda known better but hey, live and learn the hard way. feels like every time we line one up they vanish like ghosts in the fog.
