Frustrated as hell after that client prank in north jersey today

Out here in north jersey, zone 4 winters can be brutal but summers are where the funny business happens, or so I thought. Got a call from this 'client' needing a full yard makeover, talked me into a $3500 quote using my Stihl FS 56 trimmer for the edges and some fresh sod install. Showed up with the crew, tools loaded, and turns out it was a setup by some neighborhood kids pulling a fast one on the old landscaper. Spent two hours prepping just to drive away empty-handed, what a waste of diesel. NGL, felt like an idiot but laughed it off later with the guys over beers. Lesson learned: always verify the address before loading the trailer. Shoulda known better after 8 years in this game.

Haha, sounds like my first season in the burbs - had a 'emergency tree trim' that was just a dog stuck in a bush, billed them for the callout anyway.
