Man, invoicing these seasonal leaf collections is turning into a part-time job on its own. I use Jobber to track the routes and send out bills, but customers drag their feet on payment for the fall cleanup hauls. Last week I had to chase down three accounts that were overdue from the previous round of leaf vacuuming with my Billy Goat setup. It's frustrating when you're out there blowing leaves into the truck bed and then stuck playing bill collector. Watched a video from Phil from Turf's Up on streamlining this, and he mentioned integrating QuickBooks, but I'm not sure if that's worth the switch. Anyone else dealing with this crap in collections? Feels like I'm the only one losing time on it.

same shit here, chasing leaf job payments feels like half my week some falls. jobber's great for routes but sucks at collections, had four overdue last month that i had to call on myself. been there man, it's a pain in the ass.

chasing payments after leaf jobs feels like herding cats with a leaf blower. i tell my customers 'pay up or i'll mulch your driveway next time' ... works half the time lol.

i ditched chasing payments two years back and now my leaf collection side pulls in an extra 15k each fall without the headache. set up jobber to auto-send invoices right after the truck's loaded with that billy goat debris, and slapped on a 2% late fee that actually gets 'em moving. integrated it with quickbooks online last season and payments started rolling in faster than leaves in a windstorm. proud as hell watching the bank account fill up instead of wasting days on phone calls. best move was ditching paper checks for stripe payments, cuts out the bs entirely.

Don't let them slide past 30 days or you'll never get paid on time.

Exactly, set up auto-reminders in whatever app you're using before it becomes a habit. I had a guy skip out on two months of leaf service and had to eat the cost.

Same here, commiserate with you on the leaf pileups turning into payment pileups.

Had a customer once pay me in a bag of leaves instead of cash - said it was 'fair trade' for the collection. Nearly pissed myself laughing but told him to stuff it.

Bill 'em for the comedy show too next time, charge extra for the entertainment value of their excuses.
