So I'm out in the greater Atlanta area handing out these fancy door hangers for spring lawn maintenance packages, figuring I'd snag a few easy mulch installs or sod jobs. First call comes in from a lady who wants her overgrown azaleas trimmed, but when I show up, she's got three feral cats loose and one decides my boots are a scratching post. Then the neighbor joins in, demanding I quote a full xeriscape redo on the spot because 'the HOA is breathing down my neck.' By the end of the day, I've got zero signed contracts but stories that'll make the crew laugh for weeks. Moral of the story: next time, I'm sticking to Google ads for leads, at least they don't claw back. Anyone else have a cold outreach gone hilariously sideways?

man, door hangers always turn into some kinda backyard zoo show for me too. last summer i was out in the atlanta burbs dropping mine for roof inspections, and this one lady calls saying her shingles look like hell after a storm. show up and her yard's overrun with these massive rabbits from the neighbor's petting zoo escape or somethin, one jumps right on my ladder while i'm climbing up. then her husband starts yappin about wanting a full tear-off quote on the spot, but he's arguin with the rabbits more than me. ended the day with nothin but muddy boots and a story for the guys at the shop. been there brother, cold calls are a crapshoot. might as well laugh it off and hit up those google ads like you said. sucks when the leads are more trouble than they're worth.

try adding a quick QR code to your door hangers that links straight to a simple scheduling page on housecall pro, cut the crazy walkups and got me 20% more solid leads last spring.

damn these atlanta homeowners turn every cold call into a three-ring circus, why cant they just let us do the damn job without the feral animals and ho drama?

those damn door hangers are a total scam, waste a whole saturday slinging em out in the atlanta heat and all you get are nutjob homeowners turning your bid into a backyard zoo.

try adding a referral discount on your next batch of door hangers, like 10% off for each neighbor they send your way, it turned my cold calls into actual jobs last summer.

been there, bro, handed out flyers in a new subdivision once and ended up dodging a pissed off chihuahua while quoting a fence job that turned into a full yard demolition request. door hangers sound safer than that circus, but yeah, google ads might save your sanity next time.

man, door hangers always turn into some kinda backyard zoo around here too, had a dog chase me down the street last week while the owner yelled about her 'neglected' lawn. shoulda stuck to the truck with google ads from the start, less scratches that way.
