I'm up in Minnesota and just started doing landscaping side gigs, quoted this lady $800 for clearing out her overgrown backyard and hauling away the debris, figured it'd take my crew a full day with the truck and chipper. She said it was too much and ghosted me, now I'm second-guessing if that's even a fair price for 8 hours of sweat. Watched this YouTube video from Green Thumb Guru on estimating jobs but still feel lost on what to charge for basic cleanups like that.

$800 sounds about right for a full day cleanup up there in minnesota, especially if you're hauling heavy debris with the chipper. break it down to $100/hour including labor, dump fees and fuel, and clients usually bite when you explain the costs like that.

fuckin clients up in minnesota think a yard cleanup is some backyard bbq setup, they bail every time you hit em with real dump fees and thats why were all scraping by.

fuckin homeowners always think they can get pro work for free, quoted a similar cleanup last week and the cheap bastard tried to haggle me down to 400. its bullshit, stick to your guns on that 800 or youll be broke before you know it.

$800 is a steal for a full day in minnesota with that overgrown mess, but clients always think we're raking leaves on the beach. screw underquoting to chase ghosts, bump it to $1200 next time or you'll burn out fast.

$800 sounds fair for a full day with crew and chipper in minnesota, but try breaking it down like $100/hr plus dump fees to show em the value next time.

man, $800 for a full day of chipping and hauling in that minnesota mud is a steal, but clients ghosting over a fair quote? been there too many times, makes you wanna stick to side gigs with folks who get it.

yeah happened to me on my first mulch job, quoted $600 and they went with the neighbor kid for half. took a beer to get over it.

bailing clients are the worst part of starting out, you'll get thicker skin soon enough.

$800 sounds about right for minnesota cleanups, especially if you're hauling far.

yeah, clients bailing on quotes sucks, been there more times than i can count. minnesota folks are picky about prices this time of year.

fuckin clients these days sniff out a lowball quote like sharks and bolt before you can even load the truck.

controversial take but $800 is highway robbery for a basic cleanup, clients can smell desperation.

warning: never quote without a deposit on cleanups, had a guy run off with my quote and hired someone else, lost a whole saturday.

try adding a line item for debris disposal, that ups the perceived value without much extra work.

helpful tip: check local dump fees first, in minnesota they're like $50/ton so factor that in to justify the price.
