LinkedIn Post That Landed Me a $12k Landscape Upsell Gig

Out here in north jersey, I was on a basic lawn maintenance job for this commercial client last spring, just mowing and edging with my Stihl FS 94 trimmer when I spotted their outdated flower beds looking like crap. I snapped a quick before pic on my phone and threw together a LinkedIn post about how I turned a simple trim job into a full xeriscape redesign, tagging local business owners and using that one Roger Wakefield video on upselling services as inspo for the caption. Next morning, boom, that same client DMs me wanting a quote for drought-resistant plants and irrigation tweaks, ended up closing $12k on the spot after walking them through the water savings. NGL, it felt like a total win after months of grinding solo, but damn if the heat didn't make installing those drip lines a sweat-fest. Anyone else using LinkedIn for landscaping upsells like this? Saw a thread on r/landscaping where guys were sharing similar stories, but mine hit different.
man, that solo grind in the jersey heat is brutal, been there sweating my ass off on drip lines just to close a deal. feels damn good when it pays off though, keeps you going.

be careful posting client pics on linkedin without permission, had a buddy get sued for $5k over a before shot that showed their logo. clients dont always like their mess going viral.

goddamn linkedin is a goldmine for us small guys, but then angi and those lead-gen vampires swoop in charging $80 a pop for the same scraps we hustle for free. keeps the big boys fat while we're out here sweating for every dollar.

linkedin upsells are a total scam, just another way for tech bros to steal our leads while we're bustin our asses in the dirt. shoulda stuck to yard signs like the rest of us old school guys, wouldnt have to deal with that corporate bs.

man, turning a flower bed into a $12k xeriscape sounds like wizardry, i tried upselling mulch once and ended up hauling it all myself after the client ghosted. linkedin gold for you though, dont tell my facebook group buddies or they'll never let me live it down 😂.

watch your ass on those linkedin upsells, i did something similar last year and the client stiffed me on half the $8k after claiming the xeriscape wasn't 'drought-resistant enough' in our first dry spell.

Frustrated as hell with LinkedIn, posted about my patio installs and got zero bites, just spam from landscapers in india.

Same shit here in the burbs, feels like everyone's ignoring the good stuff for cheap overseas crap. Keep at it though, one win like yours makes up for the droughts.
