Out here in rural Texas, got called to a mobile home rekey at midnight for $150 flat rate. Guy was wasted, hands me his Schlage deadbolt key and says 'make it work,' but he'd jammed a 1/4-inch twist bit right through the cylinder trying to DIY. I pull it out with my HPC pin kit, and he starts laughing like it's the funniest shit, offers me a beer while I'm pinning new keys. Watched this LockPickingLawyer video once on Schlage vulnerabilities, figured it'd help, but damn, never seen someone drill their own lock drunk.
next time grab a schlage key extractor set instead of the pin kit, itll yank those drilled bits out way faster without wreckin the whole cylinder. saves ya time on drunk calls like that.

been there with the drunk diyers who turn a simple lockout into a total shitshow, makes you wonder how they even own a house.

guy probably thought he was reenacting a lockpickinglawyer vid but ended up with a beer and a new key instead of the win.

goddamn homeowners thinking they're bob the builder at midnight, always end up screwing themselves and wasting our time. had a similar call last week where some idiot drilled right through his kwikset knob and blamed me for the 'extra damage' when i fixed it. it's like they watch one youtube vid and suddenly they're experts, leaving us to clean up the BS. makes me wanna charge double for these drunk diy disasters.

god, i hate these drunk idiots who think they're handymen, last week i had to replace a whole door frame after some fool drilled through it and splintered everything. makes me wanna charge double for after-hours calls like that.

drilling your own locks drunk is a recipe for disaster, had a guy last year snap a bit in his deadbolt and end up calling us for a full replacement that cost him 400 bucks.

next time a drunk diy-er mangles the cylinder like that, grab some wd-40 to loosen the bit before pulling it out with your hpc kit, saves a ton of hassle.
