Man, up in north jersey where traffic's a nightmare and everyone's hauling crap across state lines, my referral program with Two Men and a Truck has been tanking. I used to get solid leads from past customers offering them $50 off their next move if they sent me a buddy, but last quarter I only pulled in $2k from referrals, down from $10k the year before. The economy's got folks cutting corners, and they're just DIYing with U-Hauls instead of calling pros like us. I saw a thread on r/moving where someone complained about the same drop-off, and in the Moving Professionals Facebook group, a guy said he's switched to straight cash incentives. Hell, maybe I need to up it to $100 or tie it to bigger jobs like full pack services. TBH, it's frustrating as hell watching good money walk away. Anyone got a better system that's actually working in this market?

Same here, referrals dried up after inflation hit and now I'm scrambling for every interstate load.

Yeah, it's brutal. Me and my crew were banking on word-of-mouth for those cross-country hauls, but now it's crickets. FML.

Switch to tiered rewards, like $25 for a small apartment move referral and $75 for a house. Worked for my local gigs last summer.

Screw these cheap customers ghosting referrals, it's the economy's fault but also these aggregator sites like Angi stealing our leads. Time to fight back with better online presence before PE vultures buy us out.
