North Jersey here, been slinging furniture with U-Haul trailers for 15 years now, and just crossed 100 moves a month, pulling in $180k revenue this quarter. But these private equity vultures are snapping up every mom and pop outfit, jacking up the competition with their deep pockets and crap wages. Saw a thread on r/moving about how one guy got undercut by a PE-backed firm charging half our rates for long hauls. Someone in the Moving Professionals Facebook group said it's the same BS everywhere, forcing independents like me to grind harder or sell out. We're in zone 5 winters, so delays from snow mean we're losing bids left and right to these corporate giants. FML, anyone else feeling the squeeze on local residential jobs?
