I'm in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and just got a quote request for a full office relocation with 50+ desks and cubicles, and the competition is quoting under $5k for a 20-mile haul. That's barely covering our U-Haul rental and the guys' time with all the furniture wrapping and disassembly. These lowballers are killing the market, making it impossible to run a legit crew without losing our shirts.

those cheap quotes always come back to bite with change orders and delays, screw em.

exactly, had one last month where the 'budget' job turned into overtime hell.

it's frustrating as hell, been turning down those gigs because margins are razor thin. we stick to flat rates starting at $8k for anything over 10k sq ft but clients think we're ripping them off.

same here, the commercial side used to be steady money but now it's a race to the bottom.

i hit 200k last year focusing only on high-end corporate moves, no more penny-pinching offices.

pisses me off every time, spent a weekend on a 'quick' warehouse shift that dragged into three days because of their poor planning.

yeah man, i feel you on the dallas market, too many fly-by-night crews undercutting with no insurance.

we're all in this crap together, time to band up and stop the bleeding.
