Running my small moving crew out of Dallas, and taxes are killing me this year. Spent $8k on U-Haul trucks and dollies that are already beat to hell from hauling heavy sofas across town, but the IRS wants their cut on everything. Anyone else deducting that stuff as business expenses, or am I missing some write-off for all the tape and padding we burn through? FML, thought being solo would be simpler.
dont try to deduct every little thing without receipts or you'll get audited and the IRS will hit you way harder than that 8k ever could, seen it screw over buddies in the moving game.

u-haul rentals are straight-up deductible as business vehicle expenses, just keep those receipts and log the miles for dallas runs. dollies and padding count too under supplies, especially if they're wearing out from all that furniture abuse. tape's a no-brainer write-off, bundle it with your other materials on schedule c. talk to a cpa familiar with texas movers, saves you headaches come audit time.

irs is a bloodsucking nightmare, straight up screwing small outfits like us on every damn rental and dolly that wears out from real work while the big corps get all the loopholes.

screw the IRS rules, i deduct every damn u-haul rental and beat-up dolly as business use even if they bitch about it being miscellaneous, keeps more cash in my pocket.
