Man, just wrapped up a cross-country move from Chicago to Phoenix, and this U-Haul customer turned into a total nightmare at the delivery drop. We're unloading her antique furniture into the new place when she starts screaming about a $500 scratch that wasn't there, swearing we'll pay for it or she'll sue. I had to call my crew back from lunch to document every piece with photos on our phones before she could plant any more fake damage claims. North Jersey roots but this Phoenix heat makes tempers flare faster than usual, and I've been moving 20 years without this kinda BS. Nearly walked off the job and ate the $800 fee, but we got it resolved with a quick inspection. Rant over, anyone else had a client flip out like that?

god, those psycho clients make me wanna quit the game every time. had a similar mess on a dallas run last month, lady claimed $300 in 'damage' that was there when we loaded up, took pics and walked her through it before she could lawyer up. been there brother, phoenix heat just amps the crazy.

had a customer pull the same crap on a long haul from dallas, claimed a $300 dent we didnt make and threatened to withhold payment... almost came to blows before i got the lawyer on speed dial to shut her up.

screw documenting every scratch, i just tell psycho clients like that to pound sand and walk off the job with the deposit, saves headaches every time.

had a lady once claim my crew broke her priceless vase during a local haul, turns out she dropped it herself while yelling about the price. we just stood there filming her like a bad reality show until she backed off, shoulda charged extra for the entertainment. phoenix heat turning folks psycho? sounds like you dodged a bullet, or a flying antique. next time, maybe bait em with a fake scratch to see how wild they get. 😂 my buddy lost a whole job over a 'mysterious' dent that was there from the factory. keeps things interestin, dont it?

always get signed inventory sheets before unloading, saves your ass from fake claims like that. did a chicago to arizona run last month and the customer signed off on every piece, no drama.

god, these entitled homeowners make me wanna chuck the whole damn truck off the interstate. had a similar crap-show last summer hauling from atlanta to orlando, lady claims her $1200 vase got chipped in transit but it was already cracked from her packing it like a toddler. me and my helper spent two hours inventorying every fragile piece with timestamps on the phone pics, only for her to back off when she saw we werent budging. phoenix heat sounds brutal, bet it amps up the crazy even more out there. i almost ate a $600 loss just to avoid the headache, but nah, documented it all and charged her the full rate. customers like that are why i started turning down long-haul jobs altogether. total BS, man. you ever think about adding a pre-inspection clause to your contracts to head this off?

these entitled homeowners are the WORST, always pulling that fake damage crap to squeeze every last dime out of you. i had one last month in a dallas haul who 'discovered' a chip in her china after we left, then hit us with a $600 demand via email like we were her personal ATM. its infuriating how they think movers are just walking wallets, especially after youve hauled their junk across states in blistering heat. phoenix sun probably fried her brain, but damn, these psychos make you question why we bother with the long hauls. the whole industrys getting overrun with this bs, and inspectors or lawyers just shrug it off. we gotta start charging upfront deposits or something to weed out the crazies.

always document everything before and after with time-stamped pics on your phone, saved me from a similar claim last month when some lady tried to blame us for a dent in her $1200 oak dresser.

goddamn clients like that are the WORST, always pulling that fake damage crap to squeeze a freebie outta us honest guys. i've had to lawyer up twice over similar BS in the last year, and it's straight up infuriating how they think they can get away with it.

screw these clients who wait til the end to complain. i've lost count of how many times i've had to fight over bullshit marks that were there before we touched it.
