Hey folks, i'm a mover out in north jersey running a small crew of 3 trucks, and i'm trying to amp up my online reviews on google and yelp to build rep. we just wrapped a $1200 local move with uhaul trailers last week and the client loved it but forgot to leave a review. saw a thread on r/moving where someone shared how they use instagram stories to nudge folks for feedback after jobs. any tips on what kinda posts work best for prompting reviews without seeming pushy? i've tried emailing templates but only get like 20% response. also, how do you handle the odd bad review that sneaks in?
man, i try hittin up clients right after the job with a quick text link to google reviews and still only get like 10% to actually do it, its frustratin as hell when the good ones ghost and the pissed off one leaves a novel.

god, the bad reviews are the worst, had one pissed off customer trash us on yelp over a scratched lamp that wasnt even ours and it tanked my response rate for weeks.

don't beg for reviews on social media or you'll come off desperate and scare off more clients than you attract, had a buddy tank his whole rep that way.

those cheap bastards on yelp and google never leave reviews unless it's to bitch about a damn scratch we didnt even make, pisses me off how they expect five stars for free.

post a quick instagram story right after the job showing a fun behind-the-scenes shot of your crew wrapping up and say something like 'had a blast with this north jersey move, tap the link in bio to share your thoughts on google!' that gets em without bugging too much.

i tell ya, after every job i snap a pic of the empty truck and caption it 'mission accomplished, now hit me with that 5-star before i start cryin' into my pizza, works like a charm without beggin'.

man, i feel ya on those clients who swear they loved the job but ghost the review request, happens to me every damn time with my painting gigs.

man, that 20% response on emails is brutal, been chasing those ghosts for years with my crew too.

yeah especially when they're beat from carrying boxes all afternoon. just text em a quick thanks with the review link right after unload.

screw the homeowners who ghost you on reviews, they expect gold service for pennies.

hit 50 five-star reviews last month by posting before/after move pics on fb, clients eat that up and tag themselves.

keep it simple: end every move with a branded sticker on their box that says 'loved our service? drop a review!' works 80% of the time.

don't beg for reviews, just do killer moves and ask in person while packing up.
