Frustrated as hell after this hilarious paint spill disaster with the client watching

Up here in north jersey, we were spraying the exterior of this old colonial with Sherwin-Williams Emerald and I charged $4500 for the whole job figuring it'd take two days max. Me and my apprentice were using the Graco Magnum to get that smooth finish when the hose kinks up and sprays Benjamin Moore Aura all over the client's prized azaleas, turning them into a rainbow crap-show. The homeowner comes running out laughing her ass off but then demands we fix it, so now we're out an extra $800 on plants and cleanup. NGL, I wanted to quit right there but had to play it cool. Saw a similar story in the Painters Lounge FB group last week, guys were cracking up. Shoulda double-checked that hose like Idaho Painter always says in his videos. FML, but at least it made for a funny moment after the fact. Edit: we got it sorted, client tipped us $100 for the laughs.

SharkBite fittings for paint hoses? Nah, just tape the damn things better, spills like that are why I stick to brushes for exteriors.

Damn, $800 on plants? That's BS, make the client eat that cost next time with a spill clause in your contract. Happened to me on a deck job, still pissed about it.
