FML, my ladder rack just ate my Graco sprayer on the highway

So im driving my work van to the next exterior job, got all my gear strapped to the ladder rack like usual. Hit a bump and next thing i know, my Graco Mark V is bouncing down the interstate behind me. Had to pull over in the middle of traffic, heart pounding, and chase it like a dumbass while semis are flying by. Luckily it wasnt totaled but the hose is all kinked up now, gonna be a pain to fix before tomorrows cabinet refinish. Swear these racks are more trouble than theyre worth sometimes, especially with all the paint cans and rollers up there too. Anyone got a better setup for hauling painting equipment without it turning into a comedy of errors?

Strap everything down with ratchet straps and use cargo nets over the top, saved my ass more than once with sprayers.

Goddamn fleet managers and their cheap racks, every painter i know has lost something off em.

I use a enclosed trailer now, no more highway rodeos with my gear.

My rack ate a drop cloth once, unfolded like a parachute behind me.

Frustrating as hell, lost time and now youre rushing the job.

Switch to a roof rack with locks, way more secure for heavy stuff like sprayers.

SharkBite for plumbing, but for racks? Get the Thule system, holds everything tight.

Just finished upgrading my van fleet to Rhino racks, no issues since.

Feel ya, these roads are brutal on equipment hauls.
