Been running my painting crew for 8 years now and just bumped up rates on those kitchen cabinet jobs everyone loves. Switched to Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane for better durability and it lets me justify the increase without the cheap peel-off issues. Clients are still biting because they see the quality in the finish, especially after I show them samples from the last Graco HVLP setup we used. Watched that Idaho Painter video on social media tricks and started posting before-and-afters on Instagram, which helped pull in more high-end gigs. Someone in the Painting Contractors Facebook group mentioned tying rates to material costs, so I added a line item for that in my quotes. Now we're booking steady without the lowball headaches. Proud of how it's turning out, feels like real growth.
