Guys, serious PSA after what happened to me last week in north Jersey. I went with this budget wrap shop for my new Ford Transit painting rig, thinking I'd save a few bucks on the branding for my exterior jobs using Sherwin-Williams Emerald. The vinyl started peeling off after two months of hauling ladders and sprayers through these humid summers, and now I'm out $4500 on repairs and lost jobs because it looks like crap. Saw a similar rant in the Painting Contractors Facebook group, but I ignored it and now regret it. If you're wrapping your fleet for visibility on commercial bids, pay up for quality or you'll end up like me, scrambling for temp fixes. NGL, it's a crap-show dealing with these fly-by-night shops. Moral: test the wrap with a small run first.

Screw these cheap wrap outfits, they're bleeding us dry with their garbage work and zero warranties.

exactly, corporate PE types buying up the good shops and jacking prices while the knockoffs ruin it for everyone

it's the same everywhere, one bad wrap and your rep tanks before you even bid

ha, my buddy did the same with a Chevy Express and the thing looked like a melted popsicle after a single rainstorm.

man, i feel your pain, had a similar wrap fail on my rig last year and it killed my schedule for weeks.

those budget shops are the worst, they slap on vinyl thinner than my ex's excuses and charge premium.

how long did your wrap last before it started peeling? mine held up okay for a year but i'm curious about brands.

don't risk it, i saw a guy lose a finger trying to patch a peeling wrap while driving, stick to pros only.

same here in the burbs, wraps failing left and right and we're all paying the price in downtime.

finally wrapped my fleet with 3M last month and it's holding like a champ through the mud and jobsites.

ford transits are beasts but cheap wraps turn them into rolling billboards for failure, go full 3M or bust.

swap to a local union shop for wraps, they use Avery Dennison and it'll outlast your brushes.

watch some idaho painter vids on prep, he talks about testing wraps with solvent wipes before committing.

big warning: skip the diy wrap kits, one wrong bubble and you're repainting the whole van by hand.
