Had this job last week where the client picked Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane for her trim, swearing it was the best for durability. We spent two days prepping and painting, using Wooster 2.5 inch angled brushes like always. Finished up and she calls me the next day pissed about visible brush marks on the doors. Told her it's a waterborne product, gonna have some texture if not sprayed, but she wants it redone with no extra cost. Me and the helper were steaming mad after all that masking and cleanup. Saw a similar rant in the Painters Lounge FB group about picky homeowners on finishes. Anyone else dealing with this crap?

SharkBite fittings for plumbing, but for paint, controversial take: brush marks on urethane are just lazy prep. Sand between coats next time, problem solved.

LOL, next time tell her the cat did it and charge for cat whisperer services. We had a guy blame us for his kid's finger paintings mixing in.

Haha, kids are the real artists. But seriously, that sounds like a nightmare job.

I feel your pain, man. Lost a weekend to a similar trim redo last month.

Switch to spraying with a Graco UltraMax if you can, cuts down on those complaints big time. Prep is still king though, TSP wash and 220 grit sanding.
