Invoicing headaches with big commercial painting jobs anyone else?

Man, invoicing these large commercial gigs is killing me, especially when we're doing multi-room interior jobs with Sherwin-Williams Emerald paint and all the trim work. I use QuickBooks Online but it always glitches when I try to attach the detailed breakdown of primer coats and final topcoats. Last project, I had to manually email the client five times because the PDF wouldn't send right, and they were breathing down my neck for payment terms. Saw a similar rant in the Painting Contractors Facebook group, guy said he switched to Housecall Pro and never looked back. Me and my crew are buried in paperwork after every job, from the initial estimate to the final walkthrough. Anyone got a better system that actually tracks the hours on ladders and masking without eating up the whole afternoon?

Switched to Jobber two years ago and it's been smooth sailing ever since, invoices go out automatically after job completion.

Same here, every time I invoice a big repaint it's like pulling teeth.

Hate it when clients nitpick the line items on paint quantities, makes me wanna quit commercial altogether.

Totally, they act like they know more about coverage rates than we do.

One time a client rejected the whole invoice because I listed 'misc supplies' - had to break it down to tape and drop cloths.

FieldEdge saved my ass on invoicing, especially for those HVAC-painting crossover jobs.

Insurance companies drag their feet even more, wait weeks for approval on every coat.

Try Acculynx, it's geared for contractors and handles painting estimates like a champ.

Big box stores as clients are a joke, they demand net 60 terms on every exterior job.

Watched Idaho Painter on YouTube talk about his invoicing setup, uses a custom template in Google Sheets.

Yeah, and then they lowball the next bid because of some BS invoice dispute.

PE firms buying up painting companies are ruining invoicing with their red tape.

Route4Me helps with scheduling but for invoicing, stick to something simple like Invoice2go.
