Big win turning into loss: Sherwin-Williams Emerald job quoted $4k now fighting over prep

Landed a sweet interior repaint for a whole living room and dining area using Sherwin-Williams Emerald urethane alkyd semi-gloss, quoted them $4k including all the trim work and two coats. Thought it was smooth sailing til the client calls mid-job pissed about some old wallpaper seams showing through after sanding. Now they're holding $500 hostage unless I redo it for free, even though we discussed the surface prep upfront. FML, anyone else had a brand name paint not hide imperfections like it should?

Insurance companies and clients teaming up to screw us over on every job, it's the same BS everywhere in the trades.

What brand of sandpaper did you use for those seams? Sometimes switching to 220 grit helps.
