Been painting for 15 years now, mostly residential but branched into commercial strip malls and offices. Landed what shoulda been my biggest job ever, a full repaint of a 50k sq ft warehouse using Sherwin-Williams Duration exterior, but the owner ghosted me after the walk-through. I put in all the prep time, mocked up color samples with their Behr samples, even threw in a free pressure washing quote. Now I'm staring at empty weeks and wondering if it's time to pivot to something else. Saw a similar rant in the Painting Contractors Facebook group last month, guys saying the market's flooded with cheap subs. Watched that Idaho Painter video on pricing strategies too, but it didn't help this time. Feels like the grind's finally breaking me down.
