Been using Sherwin-Williams Emerald for all my exterior paints because it holds up so well to the elements, but damn, at $85 a gallon it's killing my profit on these $4500 repaints. Clients love the finish but I can't keep eating the material costs like this without jacking up my quotes even more. Anyone else dealing with brand loyalty screwing their bottom line?

sherwin-williams has us by the balls with their pricing hikes, forcing us to either eat the loss or charge homeowners an arm and a leg just to stay afloat.

stick with emerald too long and you'll be the one gettin' painted outta business, i saw a buddy drop 20% margins last season before he switched to duration and saved his ass.

What kind of coverage are you getting per gallon on siding? Maybe switching to a cheaper line could help without losing quality.

I've been running my painting crew for 8 years now and sticking with Benjamin Moore Aura has paid off big time - clients come back for touch-ups and my margins are steady at 35%. Switched after too many callbacks on lesser paints.
