I've been grinding away on my Google Business Profile for the past year, optimizing it for local painting searches, but these reviews are screwing me over. Just got a 1-star from a picky homeowner in the Chicago area who complained about a trim touch-up on a $3500 interior job using Sherwin-Williams Emerald paint - said it wasn't 'perfect' even though I went back twice to fix it. Now my rating's dipped to 4.2 and I'm seeing fewer calls for residential repaints. Watched that Idaho Painter video on handling bad reviews, but damn, it's hard not to respond heated when they post BS. Anyone else dealing with this crap on their GBP? How do you get back to 4.8+ without kissing ass?

man, those one-star assholes kill me too, had a homeowner ding me over some bullshit color match on a $2800 exterior job and it tanked my leads for weeks. chicago winters make everything worse with the paint cracking anyway, but google doesnt give a damn about context. been there with the urge to fire back, but it just stirs the pot more. sucks losing that $2k, solid work shouldnt get buried like this.

those entitled homeowners are the WORST, always nitpicking after you bust your ass on a job and then tank your rating over some bullshit detail. google's review system is rigged against us trades guys, letting one bad apple screw your whole business like that.

man, one pissed off customer tanked my electrical jobs last year too, dropped my rating from 4.7 to 4.1 and i lost out on a few thousand in callbacks... sucks when they dont see all the extra work you put in.
